Even if you know that the firm allows employees to wear jeans, don’t show up to the interview in casual clothing.

Not knowing what the company does- This is one of the first things you should do before appearing in an interview. Always do your share of research before meeting anyone in a professional capacity. It takes no time at all to learn something about an organisation. Brilliant it would be if you list out couple of questions about the company that you can ask during the interview. It’s the best way to keep the conversation going—and stand out.

Trash talking- You are a self-confessed blabber mouth and once you start talking, there’s just no stopping to it! But you have to draw a line to this outrageous tendency once you step inside the board room. You hate your previous employer for not treating you fairly, you have tremendous grudge about your previous organisation’s work culture, you had severe ego problems with your former boss/colleagues… hold it all within…because a job interview is not the place to launch into a litany of complaints. If you do so…it’ll just act against you.

Bringing up salary too soon- Don’t talk money too soon in an interview. Wait for the negotiation rounds and state your expectations. Salary and benefit talks can wait; first you need to show the employers that you are the right fit for the job as well as the organisation’s work culture.

Be ready to come up with real time strategies and plans while illustrating how your experience, abilities, and strengths can work in line with the company’s needs. Many potential employers want to know why they should hire you specifically, so you have to be all ready to address all their tricky on-the-spot situations!
